Nature is
always offering us wonderful scenes. In Cádiz province there are important
spaces with a wide range of flora and fauna where nature lovers can enjoy
amazing views and where they can see how different animals live and behave. Nowadays,
rural tourism is a very popular phenomenon and our province is an important
attraction for this activity lovers.
At the end
of September and during the whole month of October, once the summer has died
and the high temperatures are disappearing, an important event takes place in
our forests: the deer’s bellow. This is the time when female deer are on heat.
The male deer must stand out and for this purpose they make loud noises that
can be heard in many part of the forest. It is the deer’s bellow. They bellow
in order to call the female. But at the same time, they have to protect their
territory and, for this, there are intense fights between male deers. Only one
can be the owner of the site. This is a great scene because, at the beginning,
you can hear the sound of the bellow, and then the sound of the antlers hitting
each other when fighting can be heard. After the fight the winner will be able
to keep the female.
But
fighting and bellowing is not the only ritual that deer uses to mark out their
territory: they also dig and urinate over the land. After this, they roll
around in the mood that is produced.
Deer is a
popular animal in “Los Alcornocales” Natural Park. Now, it is time for this
beautiful phenomenon. Some organizations create activities in order to go to
the forest and be able to live this moment. Without any doubt, it is an
interesting scene that can be experienced in our province.
